The Role
We are looking for an energetic self-starter to join our investment team! This person will actively participate in our fund, including sourcing deals, doing deep diligence, and helping to manage the portfolio. Most of your time will be spent sourcing and analyzing new investment opportunities, diligencing new markets, financial modeling, and networking with your peers. Key Responsibilities
- Shape Core’s investment thesis through research on market trends, sectors, and investment prospects
- Strengthen and expand Core’s brand by building relationships with industry insiders, founders, and other investors at conferences and events
- Support investment decisions by conducting due diligence, incorporating competitive and financial analyses, and management team evaluations
- Communicate investment recommendations through investment memorandums and returns analyses
- Evaluate incoming investment opportunities by conducting research and meeting with founders
Ideal Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in venture capital or a venture-backed startup, with a strong preference for candidates who have spent at least 1–3 years at a venture fund
- Demonstrated ability to build and leverage a strong network for sourcing deals—this role requires someone who has already built meaningful founder and investor relationships
- Deep understanding of relevant technology trends (AI, Blockchain, Open Banking, etc.)
- Ability to utilize AI technology to innovate on internal workflows
- Proven self-starter, highly-motivated personality, able to succeed in an unstructured environment
- Strong analytical thinker with the ability to synthesize disparate information into clear conclusions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid foundation in financial modeling and returns analysis
